The Business Development Consultant’s role is very important to the business as he/she is an ambassador, making a first impression to new clients who are onboarded and nurturing relationships with existing clients in the respective portfolios. The role impacts the growth and profitability of the business by ensuring that low risk and sustainable clients are brought on board

Key Accountabilities

Develop and execute sales strategies that maximise the business’ portfolio opportunities within the customer environment.
Achieve sales performance in line with individual and team targets though cold calling or referrals.
Ensure that all required sales processes are followed when onboarding new clients and required documentation is complete and accurate.
Provide regular reporting and feedback on sales to GM of Sales.
Presents and leads customer discussions to successfully conclude the sales process.
Defines, communicates and implements the Go to Market strategy for your allocated segment – ensure that sales targets are met or exceeded in the marketplace.
Builds executive relationships within client base – articulates our client’s service and business strategies.
Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction with services rendered within the portfolio.
Knowledge and Skills requirements

Sales qualification / university degree will be advantageous
Exceptional selling and negotiation skills
Self-starter – ability to close deals in allocated time frames
Multi-tasking ability
Drive team and individual targets
Executive/ Senior level relationship management skills
Knowledge of short-term insurance industry (policy administration / premium collections / compliance)
Highly motivated and professional with excellent communication skills, highly confident and goal orientated
Experience required

Preferably someone with financial/ Insurance Industry experience who understands the insurance environment but has selling skills and drive to being client facing and target driven.
